Funeral services for Navin Jones of Peoria have been established

Funeral companies for an 8-calendar year-aged boy whose dad and mom have been accused of fatally neglecting and abusing him have been established for Tuesday morning. 

According to his obituary in the Journal Star, a Mass of Christian Burial for Navin Jones will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton, with Msgr. Gerald Ward officiating. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.

Knapp-Johnson Funeral House and Cremation Heart in Morton is managing preparations. Memorials may be produced to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for a scholarship fund in Navin’s memory.

The obituary lists survivors as including his grandmother Laura Walker as nicely as an more mature brother and two uncles.

Navin was pronounced lifeless on Tuesday at OSF Health care Saint Francis Professional medical Center after he was identified unresponsive at his parents’ residence on North Gale Avenue in Peoria. He weighed much less than 40 pounds and showed signs of actual physical abuse, prosecutors claimed on Thursday when they charged his moms and dads with murder.
